Our History

Aitinae Dimora D'Armonia is a vacation home opened in April 2025. Included in the monumental complex of San Francesco D'Assisi, it underwent a conservative restoration under the high supervision of the Catania Superintendence.
The name, Aitinae, is the owner's tribute to her mother and grandmother named after the patron saint.
This vacation home combines the warmth of Sicilian hospitality with modern comforts: carefully detailed spaces, air-conditioned rooms, fast Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen and a relaxing sleeping area to recharge your energy after a day exploring the city. The finishes are fine. The floor upstairs with typical cement tiles, so called because they are made with Portland cement, a material used in the preparation of concrete and of great production with the industrial revolution. With their elegant geometric or floral patterns, they made history in floor coverings at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, sometimes even anticipating “pop art.” Aitinae's cement tiles date from the 1800s and have undergone careful restoration, as has the typical charcoal kitchen, an ornamental element, which was restored by local craftsmen. The entrance gate of the house bears the design of the window grilles of Palazzo Biscari.
